'Stranger 2' Episode 15 Promo: Tae-ha threatens Yeo-jin with lawsuit if she investigates Park Gwang-su's death
Prosecutor Seo Dong-jae might be found thanks to Prosecutor Hwang Shi-mok and Senior Inspector Han Yeo-jin's efforts. However, the mystery behind former Chief Prosecutor Park Gwang-su's death has still not been solved. In fact, Shi-mok had found it strange that a death that had occurred due to natural causes was shut closed with not much investigation. Shi-mok had spoken to Gwang-su's wife and had found out that the man was not someone who would have alcohol and the fact that there was alcohol in his toxicology report was something that Shi-mok had found strange.
In fact, when he had a dinner-meeting with Yeo-jin, he had also shown her the amount of alcohol that was found in Gwang-su's body at the time of death. Why would someone such as him have that much alcohol if he was not much of a drinker and how did that connect to Choi Bit for Prosecutor Seo Dong-jae to take a special interest in? These are the questions that seem to drive Yeo-jin and Shi-mok in the finale week's episodes. From the promo, it is clear that neither Shi-mok nor Yeo-jin are interested in giving up on this investigation.
In fact, Choi Bit and Tae-ha, who were both at a meeting with Gwang-su, who was at the time working with Hanjo in secrecy, are doing their best to hide their connection to the case and to the incident in itself. They are so desperate that Tae-hae even goes to the extent of warning Yeo-jin that he will go as far as to sue her for corruption and collusion with a suspect. While we are not sure if this is in response to the Park Gwang-su case, the Seo Dong-jae abduction case or the police bribery case, this is definitely a warning that Yeo-jin cannot take lightly. What is intriguing, however, is the fact that Tae-ha might be taking Shi-mok too lightly.
In the promo, Tae-ha is seen warning Yeo-jin in the presence of Shi-mok and this can definitely be seen as an abuse of power. Will this result in Shi-mok's opinion about prosecutors holding on to their investigating rights so close to their chest? It is a possibility. One that Yeon-jae, the current Chairman of Hanjo had already foreseen. In fact, when Shi-mok had explained that he assigned Shi-mok to the investigation of Seo Dong-jae's abduction, he had done so to be able to control the direction of the investigation. The fact that he had assumed that he could control Shi-mok was something that Yeon-jae found laughable. Of course, Yeon-jae and we the audience have known Shi-mok longer. So Tae-ha is definitely in for a surprise in the final episodes.
