One of the biggest questions that 'Strangers 2' aka 'Forest of Secrets 2' has not yet addressed, is who is behind the abduction of Prosecutor Seo Dong-jae, and how is this case to be resolved? Prosecutor Hwang Shi-mok and Senior Inspector Han Yeo-jin are both working together on the case and so far, all that they have managed to do is to rule out suspects rather than find a lead about who could have kidnapped Prosecutor Seo in the first place.

We saw how the two of them had managed to prove that the senior inspector and his colleagues who were being investigated by Shi-mok and Prosecutor Seo for accepting bribes were the prime suspects in the case, however, once the truth was revealed regarding the cop who died by suicide, they returned to square one. Only Shi-mok realized that Prosecutor's Seo's kidnapping might never have been about the corrupt cops in the first place and that is why he began to look into the other cases that his colleague had been looking into in his free time. That is how he learns about the case of Chief Prosecutor Park Gwang-su's death and begins to dig into the same.

He also realizes that something about this case seems fishy because the person who was in charge of the branch that investigated the death of Gwang-su was none other than Choi Bit. However, before he or for that matter Yeo-jin could investigate into the case -- both are taken off and pushed to work three times as hard as before for the council meeting that is coming up soon. So in the promo, we see both Shi-mok and Yeo-jin decide to disregard the orders and they pursue the case on their own. At this time, Shi-mok learns from Prosecutor Seo's junior at work that he had recently investigated a teenager for bullying among other things and this seems to lead Shi-mok and Yeo-jin to a new suspect.

However, it might not really be the teenager because Shi-mok seems to find the junior attorney more suspicious. Considering how she had spoken to the traffic police before Shi-mok could investigate him and take him by surprise, she does seem suspicious. Also, the way she provides information seems aimed at directing the investigating a certain way without revealing her true intentions. So will the upcoming episode reveal who the real assailant is? Also, Prosecutor Seo might have escaped even before Shi-mok had a chance to rescue him.

'Forest of Secrets 2' aka 'Stranger 2' originally airs on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 pm KST in South Korea and can be streamed on Netflix.
