'Station 19' Season 3 Episode 9: Andy and Maya are 'powerful queens' for fans, but will their friendship last?
Rarely do we see gal pals on TV shows, but when there's a beautiful bond, it really does fill our hearts with joy. On 'Station 19', watching Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) and Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) was one such guilty pleasure.
It was all hunky-dory until the showrunners created a rift between the two by getting one promoted over the other.
Everyone knew Andy was supposed to get the Captain's position, but seeing her struggling with her best friend Ryan Tanner's (Alberto Frezza) death, her dad Pruitt (Miguel Sandoval) suggested Robert Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe) to not hand over the role to her.
Lo, and behold! It ruffled one too many feathers and Andy decided to vacate Maya's flat to become Jack's new roomie.
However, in Episode 9 'Poor Wandering One', when Maya confronts Sullivan about his decision again and asks him to demote her, Andy is shell shocked.
The episode ends with a heart-to-heart conversation between Andy and Maya. "When I'm made captain, it's not going to be because my friend gave me her job," Andy lovingly tells Maya, indicating that they are still friends.
Fans can't stop expressing their love for the scene. "What a beautiful scene between Maya and Andy. Friendship wins," one fan said.
Another wrote, "I really loved the friendship scenes between Andy&Maya and Jack&Dean at the end. Now I just need more friendship scenes with Vic and Travis. I feel like they haven't had a meaningful scene in forever. #Station19."
One fan said, "Andy and Maya are slowly returning. My heart is slightly healed. I needed that during this quarantine," and another viewer posted: "After all, I want Maya and Andy friends again. I really love their friendship."
Calling them "powerful queens", one fan even went on to say, "I’m so happy about Andy and Maya being friends again, two powerful queens." and another wrote, "Andy is right she shouldn't get the job because Maya gives it up. Maya you're good captain don't give it up. Plus I started to like Captain Maya."
As more episodes of 'Station 19' air every Thursday at 8 pm, it may show their bond becoming stronger.
