Is 'Stargirl' the saddest in the Arrowverse? 'They kill a lot of kids on the show,' say worried fans

Fans are also wondering whether Stargirl is the 'saddest' Arrowverse show

'Stargirl' doesn't mess around when it comes to deaths. There have already been several on the show and it began with Courtney's classmate Joey in Episode 3, his father, and now Henry King Jr or rather Brainwave Jr (Jake Austin Walker), who had just about redeemed himself.

A lot happened in the latest episode of 'Stargirl' and the ending wasn't easy to watch. The ISA caught hold of the Cosmic Staff and Courtney decides to go down to the Dragon King's lair to get her hands on it. Her friends Yolanda aka Wildcat (Yvette Monreal), Rick Tyler aka Hourman (Cameron Gellman), Beth Chapel aka Dr Midnite (Anjelika Washington) and Henry King Jr aka Brainwave Jr, who Courtney discovers is her cousin, head to the Dragon King's Lair to get the staff back as well. Henry comes because he believes his father Brainwave is there and needs help. At the end of the episode, Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) reveals that he murdered Henry's mother Merri Pemberton, and then proceeds to kill Henry too. Just before he dies, Henry apologizes to a teary-eyed Yolanda (Yvette Monreal) for whatever pain and humiliation he caused her.

A fan tweeted, "They kill a LOT of kids on the show..." Another noted, "Stargirl is the saddest in the Arrowverse, ngl." To which another responded, "At least in terms of killing teens."  Others wished for a better redemption arc for Henry. "Heart-wrenching for me. I thought it was ok because the writers knew what they were going for here. They knew we would pick up on it too. However, no redemption for #BrainwaveSr here unlike #DarthVader. I think he cut off a little more than It’s hand. #Stargirl," tweeted a fan.

Other fans say that it's just like 'Game Of Thrones'. "This show clearly has no problem killing off its mains. It’s like GOT. They even gave Henry Jr the Cersei Lannister treatment. Don’t try too attached to anyone, #Stargirl," a fan wrote. "Now after tonight's events. Will the JSA stay motivated and recover from this tragedy? #Stargirl #StargirlCW," another questioned.

Now that's the question. Another important one is, will they finally be more sensible in their strategies and plans?

'Stargirl' airs on The CW on Tuesdays at 8 pm.
