Patty Jenkins is all set to foray into the 'Star Wars Universe with 'Rogue Squadron' for Disney and Lucasfilm. With this, she becomes the first woman to direct a 'Star Wars' film in history. The announcement was made during the Disney Investors Meet on Thursday, December 10. This would mean, there is hope after the damp squib that 'Rise of the Skywalker' was. While there isn't a lot of information available on the film yet, the release date is fixed and that is a start. 'Rogue Squadrons' announcement comes just days before 'Wonder Woman 1984' is released on HBO Max.

It wasn't just the movie that was announced. Some of the live-action series parts of the slate include 'Rangers of the New Republic' from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni that is set during the same timeline of 'The Mandalorian', a Rosario Dawson starring 'Ahsoka', a new Landi Calrissian even series titled 'Lando' from Justin Simien, and Russian Doll Leslye Headland's mysterious 'Star Wars' series titled, 'The Acolyte' which is being dubbed a mystery-thriller series.

Here's everything we know about the film so far:
