'Star Wars: Rebels' has been a widely discussed show since Disney + was announced. First Order Transmissions reported that the series is slated to arrive sometime this year and also says Dave Filoni is involved in some capacity. The outlet reports that the series will be animated and will feature Ahsoka and Sabine.

According to the video, Filoni remained coy when asked about two of his favorites popping up. "I feel a responsibility to know and start to figure out what that story is because the fans seem really interested in it, as I'm interested in it," the producer admitted. "Whether it actually ever happens, I don't know yet, but I still think about it anyway. I think of all kinds of stories, and some of them happen and find their way into a release, and some don't."

He also added, "I think it's important to know the story. Especially 'cause there are other creatives and other people to come along that will ask questions to me, the same as you. 'Wow. Well, what happened there?' And so I like to know, and I'm kind of protective of certain character groups. So I feel responsible to know, 'Well, here's what happened.'"

'The Mandalorian' Season 2 is all set to debut this fall and also in development are Rogue One prequel series centered on Cassian Andor with Diego Luna reprising his role as the title character and Alan Tudyk back as his droid sidekick K-2SO, and Obi-Wan Kenobi series set to star Ewan McGregor. According to The DisInsider, CEO Bob Iger said back in November that they plan to expand the beloved Star Wars universe even further on the small screen.

Iger also mentioned that the 'Star Wars' movie franchise will “go into a hiatus for a few years”, following the release of 'The Rise of Skywalker'. That said, Rian Johnson is developing a film, as is Marvel CCO Kevin Feige, and Lucasfilm has stated they plan to release the film slated for December 2022.
