Imagine being a part of a faraway galaxy, living the characters that you have grown up reading about. The new 'Star Wars' series is all set to bring aspiring gamers and transform them into full-fledged Jedi Knights.

With classic 'Star Wars' elements like lightsabers, hyperspace, the Force, and the dark side, the 'Jedi Temple Challenge' promises to transport viewers and contestants into the 'Star Wars' galaxy like never before.

Although it is essentially a game show for the younger audience, its sheer excitement level is sure to hook adults as well.

Release Date

'Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge' will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2020.

Format

As the show's synopsis reads, the various challenges will test a Padawan's connection to the Force in three locations — a forest planet, onboard a Jedi star cruiser, and inside a Jedi temple — immersing them and the audience in a fun, humorous, and exciting competition.

They will then be challenged with the Jedi's principles in knowledge, strength, and bravery and given a set of challenges to overcome. Every Padawan gets a chance to reach the rank of a Jedi Knight at the end of all contests.

Host

Ahmed Best

The show is hosted by Ahmed Best, who will play a Jedi Master and mentor to the contestants. Ahmed is known to his fans as Jar Jar Binks from the 'Star Wars' prequels.

He is an actor, dancer, martial artist, STOMP musician, and of course, a 'Star Wars' hero. He featured in 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace' (1999), 'Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones' (2002) and 'Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith'. He will also be joined by a funny droid companion, voiced by Mary Holland.

Showrunner

The 'Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge' game show is developed by Lucasfilm's Scott Bromley and Steve Blank with Mickey Capoferri and Christine Beebe serving as executive producers.

The show is produced by Lucasfilm and Endeavor Content’s group with Dean Houser, David Chamberlin, and Mike Antinoro, serving as executive producers.
