The first part of the 'Star Trek: Picard' Season 1 finale episode was gritty, worrying and intense. In the opening scene itself, the La Sirena crew discovers the seriousness of Jean-Luc Picard's illness, a brain abnormality that he hasn't thought about for years. Picard being himself, calmly maintains that he shouldn't be treated like a dying man. Nevertheless, they visit Soji's homeland, only to realize that their arrival heralds more danger.

The surprises and shocking twists in this episode were far from over, and Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd) confessing her love for Picard was a minor jolt, compared to what followed. Narek returns and Soji (Isa Briones) is far from pleased and wants him dead. The growing sense of revenge courses through the episode and Picard is stunned to see that the synthetics believe an 'eye for eye', after their life forms were all banned in the aftermath of the Mars insurrection two decades ago.

Revenge, anger, and distrust pulsate through the show and Picard's composed speeches of love and humanity haven't been much of a help. As a result, fans are in a bit of twist on watching this episode and are flooding social media with their two-cents.

Seven Of Nine (Jeri Ryan) tells Picard to 'keep saving the galaxy' and he quietly responds, 'It's all on you now," said a fan. Another one says, "Did he just pass the torch?" Another noted, "I'm not ready for Jean-Luc Picard to die. That's not me being over-dramatic. I literally don't know that I could handle it. Please give me another ending."

In a dramatic twist, the 'Voyager' theme played in the show, and this made fans even more emotional. "When they played the Voyager theme just now, I wanted to cry."

Some critical fans also went to the extent of calling called Narek the 'weak link' in the show. "It's becoming increasingly clear that Narek is the weak link on the show. Every. Single. Time. He's on-screen, the show just grinds to a halt."

The show further reveals that Dr Soong has a son, and fans were quite excited about this. "DR SOONG'S SON! OMG! IT'S HIM, GOOD TO SEE YOU BRENT SPINER!"

"DR SOONG HAD A SON!!! OH GOD!" tweeted another fan.

'Star Trek: Picard' airs on CBS- All Access, Thursdays at 9 pm.
