'Star Trek: Discovery' Season 3 Episode 6: Did Saru make Burnham look insubordinate by involving Starfleet in mission?

Everything works out well, as Book is saved, but Burnham is in trouble for doing the wrong things for the right reason, and this creates a chasm between her and Saru

It was another exciting episode of 'Star Trek: Discovery'. Book (David Ajala) makes a return, and sends over his ship, along with his cat Grunge over to the Discovery. Burnham is shocked to learn that he has been missing for three weeks. Apparently, he has been seeking out a black box that might give Burnham some clues into discovering how the Burn happened.

The Burn is in the past, and the Federation has enough to put out in the present, which means they can't spare Discovery for a rescue mission away. This puts Saru (Doug Jones) in the difficult position of having to tell Burnham that he can't spare her for a rescue mission. However, Burnham, being Burnham, is not ready to back down, and goes ahead, taking Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) with her.

Everything works out well, as Book is saved, but Burnham is in trouble for doing the wrong things for the right reason, and this creates a chasm between her and Saru. Saru tells her that he can no longer trust her, and it remains to be seen whether they can ever repair their relationship. Saru has relieved her duties as Number One, and he is quite pained to do so, even though this is the right thing to do. He has never had reason to distrust her, but unfortunately, now he is forced to.

"Saru should have told the Admiral he sanctioned Burnham's mission and then handled it in house. Nothing was gained by involving Starfleet. It just made her look insubordinate and Saru look weak. #StarTrekDiscovery#StarTrek," a fan tweeted. "@startrekcbs@StarTrekRoom@actordougjonesBurnham hurt a lot of people with her rogue action. Saru particularly as she has to earn back everyone's trust. #StarTrekDiscovery," a fan tweeted. Nevertheless, fans were quite excited with this episode and are eagerly waiting for the next episode. "This episode was a fuggin ride! And I have to wait a week for the next! Ahhhhhhh, how did I survive only getting one new episode a week of Star Trek, as a child!? NEEEEED NOOOOW #startrekdiscovery," a fan wrote.
