Spoilers for 'Snowpiercer' Season 1 Episode 10 '994 Cars'

TNT's 'Snowpiercer' Season 1 has finally reached the end of the line with an explosive finale and a major cliffhanger. Episode 10 '994 Cars' brings the whole story back around and throws in a few new variables that will define the way the story progresses once Season 2 gets here.

In the episode, we find out that there is another train out in the world filled with supplies that could save Snowpiercer from its eventual doom. However, Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) and the rest of the train believe Mr Wilford might be on the supply train and that complicates matters, to say the least.

Despite attempting to evade the other train, Snowpiercer is captured, stopped, and boarded. Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) and his forces prepare to attack Wilford while Ruth Wardell (Alison Wright) attempts to welcome him to the train but there's a rude surprise waiting for them on the other side.

Meanwhile, Melanie attempts to sever the connection between the supply train and Snowpiercer by going up on the roof but unfortunately, she's knocked off and falls to the ground. This leaves her out in the cold with no way to get back inside, which is unfortunate because the person who greets Layton and Ruth is none other than Melanie's long lost daughter Alexandra Cavill (Rowan Blanchard) who claims Snowpiercer in the name of Mr Wilford.

In the final moments of the episode, we see that Melanie has survived, though she is caught outside the train, and with the cold setting in, she has less than fifteen minutes to get aboard Snowpiercer and get the engine running again or they all freeze to death. Even if she does manage to pull that off, she's going to have to deal with the daughter she abandoned and the man whom she thought she murdered, so that's bound to be an exciting watch.

Right now, we don't know if Mr Wilford really did survive and make it to the supply train. Assuming he did, we also need an explanation of how he managed to find Alexandra and recruit her to his side.

The IMDb page for Season 2's first episode does list Sean Bean in an undisclosed role so there's the possibility that he may be playing Wilford. That's certainly interesting and not least because by the Law of Bean, any character that Sean Bean plays will be killed off eventually so if he is playing Wilford, that more or less guarantees the death of the would-be tyrant.

Is Mr Wilford truly back or is this just yet another trick? Will Melanie survive the cold and find her way back aboard the train? And how did Alexandra survive the Freeze in the first place? All these questions will be answered when 'Snowpiercer' returns with Season 2.

'Snowpiercer' Season 1 Episode 10 '994 Cars' aired on July 19 at 9 pm ET on TNT.
