Netflix's 'Selling Sunset' has as many crazy disputes as it has magnificent mansions. In the most recent season of the popular reality show, Mary and Christine - former friends but now manager and employee - had quite a confrontation.

'Selling Sunset' has five seasons, which means five seasons of disputes and cast members who can't seem to get along. While the agents enjoyed the supportive working environment in Season 4, there was still conflict at parties, and it appeared like the entire cast was against Christine Quinn for numerous episodes. This trend persisted in the show's most recent season, with Christine being confronted by one of her co-stars every other episode. Mary Fitzgerald and Christine's feud, which began in Season 4, has intensified this season, with Mary being in a managerial position, which means she is Christine's boss now.

EXCLUSIVE | Mary Fitzgerald on Chrishell Stause's ex Keo Motsepe: 'It takes more than one night to know someone'

Fans of 'Selling Sunset' may recall that Mary and Christine were close in the first season of the show, which aired in 2019. Nevertheless, the two have drifted apart since then, and Mary has gotten close with her co-star Chrishell, who frequently clashes with Christine. Christine and Mary appear to have lost touch and are no longer pals. People can't be friends with everyone, Mary went on to remark. And, while she and Christine had previously been close, things have changed. She went on to say that it "turned toxic" and that she couldn't bear going through it any longer.

Things are only going to get worse now that Mary has taken over a new role at the Oppenheim Group. Despite Mary's best efforts to preserve a professional relationship for the benefit of the agency, things are not going according to plan, with the rest of the girls bringing Christine down during her broker's open event with Chelsea Lazkani.

Ultimately, Mary decided to have a one-on-one conversation with Christine for the sake of workplace sanity. They met in a café to talk about what had gone wrong that night and how they might go ahead peacefully.

Mary discusses how difficult it is to be a new boss and how she wants everyone to be polite and upbeat. But that's difficult since she believes Christine is at the center of everything and must evaluate and improve her behavior, both in and out of the office. Christine's humor, she says, is "rude and disrespectful," and she shouldn't be ill-talking about Jason and Chrishell's relationship. Christine then describes how she was "attacked" by seven of her co-stars at the broker's open, to which Mary responds that it was more like "calling out" than "attacking." If she wants to be a member of the brokerage, Mary advises her to stop disrespecting other agents.

What led to the falling out of the former friends?

Quinn truly had a large group of pals at The Oppenheim Group when the series initially aired. Mary Fitzgerald, her longtime bestie, was first and foremost. Fast-forward four seasons, and it's hard to believe that the duo has the most conflict. Mary Fitzgerald and Christine Quinn's dispute began quietly, with a few barbs here and there, before escalating into full-fledged fight mode. Quinn didn't tell Fitzgerald about her engagement at first, and Fitzgerald retaliated by banning Quinn from her bachelorette party — throw in a few interfering friends, a few raving sessions about one another, and the pals were no longer friends.

When Season 4 premiered, their mutual hatred was at an all-time high. Quinn's presence at Fitzgerald's dog's birthday celebration was too much for her to stomach. Quinn's pregnancy, though, sealed the deal. Because of how fast Quinn recovered, rumors began to circulate that she wasn't truly pregnant. Quinn's entire experience was upsetting as she spoke about how horrible the rumor was, and Fitzgerald's contribution merely exacerbated the situation. Fitzgerald, on the other hand, reflected afterward on her fake-pregnancy remark and clarified what she meant.

'Selling Sunset' Season 5 premieres on Friday, April 22, 2022, on Netflix.
