Halsey was the musical guest for the first episode of 'Saturday Night Live' this year. The singer appeared on stage wearing a black bodysuit and cowboy hats and boots. She chose to sing her song 'You Should Be Sad' from her latest album and rode a bull while singing.

Along with this performance, fans also got a chance to see a special performance of Halsey for the pre-recorded song for the show, 'Take it Slow'. Fans were pleased with how the show put together a song that was catchy and made them laugh.

Fans soon took to social media to express their happiness over her SNL performance. However, some viewers were not pleased with the choice of attire that the singer chose to wear for her performance.

Many thought that her attire was sexual and she could have opted for something less revealing. "Great song. I feel so sad that Halsey felt that she had to perform like she did. She has beautiful songs. The recording industry is the worst. Fight me," read one comment.

Another added, "Wow Halsey looks like a hooker. Why do some women singers feel like they need to dress like that? Talent should be the main thing. She is really annoying. #SNL."

Another user echoed similar thoughts and wrote, "about the 'slow' skit is seeing #Halsey & some of the actresses in skimpy outfits. Also as I view her 1st per4mance she still is ½dressed."

However, there were many who were impressed by her performance. "HOW IS HALSEY HOT AF RIDING A MECHANICAL BULL BUT ALSO SO F**KING CUTE WITH HER FINGER GUNS AT THE SAME TIME," wrote one.

Another added, "Just sang every word to YOU SHOULD BE SAD along with you! You’re killing it on SNL babe xoxo ." While some may not have liked the singer for her attire, there were many who became her fans because of her music.

'Saturday Night Live' airs on Saturdays at 11.30 pm ET on NBC.
