'sMothered': Laurie sniffs Sarah's baby teeth and promises to keep them, fans say serial killers do this
Sarah and Laurie share a close bond and sometimes, others question this relationship. In the latest episode (June 21), Sarah and Laurie's relationship made some people uncomfortable after it was revealed that Laurie still has Sarah's baby teeth.
Sarah arrived to meet Laurie and the two sat on the bed to have a little chat. Amid their conversation, Laurie revealed she had a surprise for Sarah and opened the drawer to show her the baby teeth she had stored. Sarah was happy and excited to see them and admitted they had traveled a long way. From New York to Florida and from house to house, the baby teeth had managed to make it all the way. Laurie sniffed the baby teeth and admitted they still had the baby smell to them. She further admitted that the baby teeth would not go anywhere and she would have them forever.
Sarah admitted that seeing her mother take care of her baby teeth in this way made her feel loved and special. She further added that she felt good knowing that there was someone out there who loved her so deeply. Sarah also shed light on how she compares her mother's love to that of her boyfriend, Miguel. Sarah recalled telling Miguel that her mother made her feel special and explained how she had stored all the bay teeth. Meanwhile, Laurie explained that she would never let go of the teeth because they were once part of Sarah and have a lot of memories attached to them. While the mother-daughter duo thought this was something special between them, viewers thought it rather was odd behavior.
"You know who else collects teeth? Serial killers," read one comment. "Oh, lord. #sMothered I was abt to tweet, these two are a lot, & date night was all kinds of wtf, but they seem to be almost sane. They even have separate lives, homes. And then came the teeth," wrote another user. "So Laurie went down to the Things Remembered just to get a new engraved glass ashtray to put Sarah’s baby teeth in it? And conveniently just in the nightstand like it’s a bag of M&Ms for a late-night snack? I can’t lol," another said.
'sMothered' airs on Sundays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
