The channel’s schedule starting from November 27 will have six classic animated Christmas films all based on the template of the jovial festival. The movie is best suited for kids if one would want them to teach values of resilience, faith, and love. Before we head to watch it, here’s all about the jolly good flick.

Release Date

‘Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer’ airs Tuesday, December 1 at 8 pm on CBS 6.

Plot

The official synopsis of the film reads, “Narrated by Burl Ives in the form of Sam the Snowman, this favorite is a musical story based on the popular song of the same name by Johnny Marks. It recounts the tale of a shy reindeer whose Christmas spirit is dampened when his shiny nose makes him the laughingstock of all of Christmasville.”

Cast

Narrator: Burl Ives
The annual holiday classic was narrated by the late singer, actor, and author Burl Ives. The singer had worked with CBS radio in the 1940s. He is prominently known for popularizing many of the folksongs he had learned amid his expeditions in his career. The actor singer’s four-decade-long career had him playing a singing cowboy in ‘Smoky’ (1946). The actor gained stupendous fame for his role as Big Daddy role in the movie version of ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ (1958) and also won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for ‘The Big Country’ (1958). He officially signed off from the career of glitz and glamor on his 80th birthday in 1989 and settled in Anacortes, Washington. However, he continued with some performances that include his famous voice-over work as Sam the Snowman in the holiday classic 1964 Christmas television special ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’. The classic was so popular that it continues to air annually around Christmas like this time on December 1 at CBS.
