It was in 2019 that Yvie Oddly first shared about her disease – hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). This results in stretchy skin and her being too flexible but that also has a damaging effect on her joints and being hyper-active wouldn't do her health wonders. She recognizes that and so does mentor RuPaul Charles.

In the premiere episode of 'RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue,' we see Ru pull up Yvie and question her about how she has been feeling. Although the disorder has not affected her work yet, Ru is concerned and wants her to be in a good headspace. She was shocked to learn that Yvie hadn't visited the doctor in 10 years only because they have not helped her out with it.

But will this affect her performance? Time will tell. Meanwhile, fans are surprised that Yvie hadn't seen a doctor in decades but also acknowledged that it can be frustrating when doctors are "discouraging." Some even pointed out that if Yvie is looking at killing it on the stage, she must put her passion for the craft above her health and push through.

"yvie not going to doctors for 10 years bc they’ve been discouraging bc of her EDS..that’s a big mood and one of the reasons i hate going bc they see someone with EDS and go “sorry there’s nothing we can do” and we are left w no help :( #DragRaceVegas," a fan commented, while another shared: "Also doctors have a history of telling Black people whatever just to get them out the office #DragRaceVegas."

"Seeing Yvie go through her health struggles a day after Chi Chi’s passing is heartbreaking #DragRaceVegas," a user tweeted. "Yvie hasn't seen a doctor in 10 years? Do they not have to get at least a physical to appear on Drag Race? I thought pretty much all the reality shows require a medical and psych evaluation. #DragRaceVegas," another expressed.

"I get pushing past the pain to pursue your passion but Yvie needs to put her health above her drag. She's an amazing queen but in order to continue being adored by audiences, she needs to be in tip-top condition. #DragRace, #VegasRevue, #RupaulsDragRace," a user pointed out.
