'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 13: Is Ross Mathews single? All about his love life after split from Salvador Camarena
RuPaul's Drag Race officially returns to VH1 on Friday, January 1, at 8 pm. Thirteen new queens will be competing for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and a cash prize of $100,000.
"Competing safely and fiercely, our 13 queens proved that it takes more than a global pandemic to keep a good queen down,” said RuPaul on the Season 13 cast. And with that, it will be the return of all our favourite judges on the show apart from RuPaul himself, namely Carson Kressley, Michelle Visage and Ross Mathews.
While 50% of the judge’s squad are happily married, it seems like the other 50%, Kressley and Mathews, are happily dating. And while Kressley is painfully private about his dating life here’s what we dug up on Mathew’s love life.
Ross began dating stylist Salvador Camarena in 2008 and they were together for almost 10 years. They appeared together on an episode of ‘House Hunters’ in 2013 as they searched for a home in Palm Springs, California. They also made an appearance on ‘Celebrity Family Feud’ and donated their winnings to the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. (They shared three rescue dogs, Louise, Mijo and Audrey.)
In 2012, the pair joked about having children together. "I grew up with three older brothers, so I can see myself being a cool little league dad," Camarena told Celebuzz. "And Ross would love a little girl to put in pageants."
Sadly, they couldn’t make it past a decade as the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ alum, 39, wrote on Instagram: "After nearly ten years together, Salvador and I have decided that the time has come to part ways.” He further wrote, "This split is amicable and filled with kindness, compassion and a genuine love for one another. As we go forward, each of us feels as if he has a cheerleader in our corner — a family member for life. We are happy. Thank you all for your well wishes and love." The stylist shared the same post on his Instagram account, adding the hashtag #consciousuncoupling.
Months after splitting from Camarena, a source revealed to Us Weekly that Mathews was getting serious with new boyfriend Ryan Fogarty, a former tour production assistant for LeAnn Rimes.
“Ross and Ryan have been out and about for a little while now as a couple," an insider told the magazine. "Their relationship was long-distance… but it’s getting more serious and Ryan has been staying with Ross in Los Angeles. The couple like to visit karaoke bars and sing together — they have a lot in common. Their energies just click."
In December 2018, fans speculated that the 39-year-old ‘Chelsea Lately' star and Fogarty were romantically involved after the two attended a tree-lighting ceremony at The Abbey in West Hollywood. Weeks later, the pair rang in the new year with friends while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
“The couple have known each other for more than a decade, but always as friends,” the source explained. “Ross and Ryan were both in committed, long-term relationships previously and have tremendous respect for their ex partners.” However, the duo has never confirmed dating or being in a relationship.
In September 2019, Ross commented about being 40 and dating in an interview with Attitude Magazine, "I’m fascinated by how many interesting people there are in the world. I know it sounds stupid but I have never done this active dating thing and I’m shocked at the calibre of people I’ve been meeting. I think that has to do with confidence because let’s be frank here, I do not have a six pack, unless it’s a six pack of wine coolers."
