'RuPaul's Drag Race': Shea Coulee wins title, fans say she won only because Ru was slammed for no Black winners

Shea Coulee has been crowned the winner of 'RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars' Season 5. It has been a long road for the queen. She came this close to winning the title in 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 9 but lost to the uber-talented Sasha Velour. It did break her confidence, which explains why he carries that loss with her even today.

In the weeks leading up to the 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' Season 5 finale, we have heard Shea bring up her defeat in the earlier spinoff season quite a few times. One of her performances was also inspired by it. The loss is deep-seated. But she has her fans to lift her spirits. They have been celebrating ever since she has been announced the winner but there's a section of viewers who have their reasons for not cheering for her.

"I feel like Shea only Won BECAUSE of the backlash Ru got for no black allstars winners & the double crowning last year & the current #BLM situation Why else you think we got a black s12 winner/ MC winner & now all stars winner Jujubee Deserved. I’m upset #allstars5 #allstars," a fan commented, while another shared: "Of course Shea was going to get the crown. After all that whining about the rose petals and “PTD” from season 9 and blah blah blah."

"I knew she was going to win based on how much they showed her talking about queen Sasha. I wasn't surprised by the finale, just disappointed," a user tweeted. "Shea was in the bottom three times and won. Let that sick in. Cranker was never in the bottom and won more challenges lol. This show has lost all of its credibility," a viewer expressed.

This could stem from the popular opinion that Shea copied one of Miz Cracker's runway looks for the finale. Or, it could be that fans of the show are more invested in Jujubee and Miz Cracker than Shea. Therefore, it's easier to point out flaws and judge Shea's performances and looks. There's also an idea that Shea may have been crowned just so that host-mentor RuPaul Charles can save herself from being attacked for not having too many Black winners.
