The CW's 'Roswell: New Mexico' released a new trailer, titled 'Truth', immediately following the release of its 'Legend' trailer where Max almost reveals himself to Liz. Coming from writer Carina Adly MacKenzie ('Originals'), the show based on the Melinda Metz's book 'Roswell High' will probably pick up from where the original Jason Katims-created drama had left, back in 2002.
The show had then starred Shiri Appleby and Jason Behr, whose characters will now be taken up by Jeanine Mason and Nathan Parsons. The description of the show reads: "After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.”
The new trailer follows up from where the previous trailer left where Liz was brought back to life by Max when she was shot in the chest during a cafe brawl. Although the previous trailer revealed Max almost confessing to Liz about his real alien identity, the 'Truth' trailer sees his siblings trying to persuade him to keep the truth hidden.
In both the trailers, we see the scene where Max tries to tease Liz by claiming he is just a normal Roswell guy, but in the 'Truth' trailer, Max seems to be reaching a point where he is no longer able to hide the reality from Liz.
Fans had mixed reactions when the 'Legend' trailer was released, where one fan commented: "I loved the original. But I’ll give this a shot bc the original got cut short due to the UPN/WB mess. But gonna be hard to beat that cast. Shiri Appleby, Jason Behr, Katherine Heigl, Brendan Fehr, Emilie de Ravin, Nick Wechsler, William Sadler, Adam Rodriguez, & Colin Hanks!!!"
However, when the 'Truth' trailer drops on social media, it will be interesting to know if fans still think it will be hard to better the original cast. 'Roswell: New Mexico' begins airing January 15, 2019, at 9 p.m. EST, on The CW.
