'Riverdale' fans are pleased as Punch after Deadline broke the news that Archie & Co might get back to action earlier than expected. With the production restart plans in full swing, the Hollywood North government’s CreativeBC is working on the safety guidelines after all filming was stopped due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, 'Riverdale', The CW's hit teen drama, was pushed for a January 2021 release, but fans are hoping to get more of Barchie, Bughead and Choni in the new season.

"Honestly I can't believe I'm gonna say this but thank God," a fan wrote. "WE MIGHT GET BARCHIE BACK SOONER, I CAN'T BELIEVE," another seconded. Some fans hoped for a Betty and Jughead wedding. "Bughead wedding after she cheated? multiple times?" she asked. "Thank you Deadline for remembering that KJ is the lead of the show....now let's get some #Barchie...oh and hope all the cast is safe," a fan tweeted. "I just wanna see Veronica, Toni, Cheryl, jughead, sweet pea, fangs, and Kevin," a fan wrote.

The usual debate of Bughead or Barchie raged on, as usual, however, there was just more of collective happiness that their favorite show would be back on screen. "Varchie endgameeeee," said a fan while another wanted to it to be the comic romance triangle.

Earlier, 'Riverdale' showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa spoke EW dished details on the upcoming Season 5. "Yeah, we had written episodes 20, 21 and 22 and when we talked about Season 5 and some of the big events like prom and graduation, it would feel like a cheat if we somehow didn't do those. So we're essentially starting the season with the last three episodes of Season 4, and partly because they're dynamite episodes. I mean big, big, big changes happen. We are continuing the mystery and the relationship drama straight into Season 5," he said.

Much of the cast is slated to reprise their roles. Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Charles Melton as Reggie Melton and Casey Cott as Kevin Keller.

What are your thoughts on an earlier start to 'Riverdale' Season 5?
