'Riverdale' season 4's poster teases fans with 'sex, lies and videotapes', hints at an exciting adventure ahead

While sex and lies has been a part of the series since inception, it's the videotapes part that may be an important part of the plot point in the upcoming season

'Riverdale' stars teased football, the possibility of a Barchie romance, working with the FBI, and some new characters during the San Diego Comic-Con. However, what they never hinted at was the thrills and chills the new season's trailers would offer. The latest footage ensures that the elements of drama and conspiracy will be climbing a notch higher. The teens are celebrating their senior year and for reasons unknown, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) goes mysteriously missing and sets the town off on a frantic search.

The clip starts off with FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) leading a huge search party into Fox Forest searching for Jug. In the next scene, which we're pretty sure takes place before Jug's vanishing, "Isn't it crazy?" Veronica says. "In just nine months, life as we know it will be over."

Followed by this are glimpses of romance between Camila Mendes and KJ Apa (Veronica and Archie) while Betty (Lili Reinhart) is sitting on Jughead's lap.  It looks like they haven't realized the grim tale that'll hit them flush on the face soon.  There's a fair bit of football like Apa promised and also some aggressive attacks— one by Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and one on Betty.  Plus, there is this thing about Jughead being buried alive.

If this was the trailer, then along came this poster with the tagline, "Sex. Lies. Videotapes." Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Cheryl, Toni, Kevin, and Reggie are all seen in the poster that looks like an old TV screen. While sex and lies has been a part of the series since inception, it's the videotapes part that may be part of the plot point in the upcoming season.

There was a lot of going back to school that was promised much before the trailer hit the internet, but with all of this, how does one make it to school we wonder? The one confirmed plot point is that 'Riverdale' is going to dedicate an entire episode of season four to pay tribute to the late actor Luke Perry who passed away in March this year.
