NEW JERSEY: Melissa and Joe Gorga of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' offered viewers a quick glimpse inside their new house during the Season 13 premiere, after years of construction and planning. Melissa is now explaining why she required her home to look like her, particularly to reflect "her personality."

Melissa's new home is in Franklin Lakes, a borough that has previously hosted many other cast members during the 'RHONJ' run. Franklin Lakes has been home to Jacqueline Laurita, Kathy Wakile, and Caroline Manzo during their tenure on the program, which is now in its 13th season. People assumed Melissa was downsizing when they learned her new property was only $950,000, which was small by Franklin Lakes standards. However, according to the New York Post, the pair took out a $500,000 loan to fund the build-out of their new house, which was planned and renovated by Joe through his home-building business.

Melissa is sick of living in 'Disney houses'

Melissa can be seen excitedly taking a quick tour of her new home with her daughter Antonia Gorga as it nears completion in the preview released by Bravo. Melissa states in her confession that she can finally see the vision of how the home will look like. "I'm sick of living in the Disney princess houses," she declares. She is even taken aback to discover that her daughter's shower will be bigger than hers! She believes she is now entitled to a beautiful home. "That was an error," she continued, referring to her old houses. Melissa declares that she is eager for a new house that is "new, more modern, sophisticated, but classy, just like my personality."

Melissa shares sneak peek into new house

The new house is not small and is stunning. When the family formally moved into the home, Melissa gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek. She is definitely saying 'bye-bye' to her mega-mansion period and opting for the tasteful and age-appropriate living space. The house, which covers about an acre and a half and has been under construction since January 2022. It is located in the upscale West Gate Urban Farms neighborhood in a leafy section of Bergen County.

The house has a sleek black-and-white façade and is slightly bigger than the prior house built on the property. It has sleeker lines and lacks the elaborate curves and curvy architecture that afflicts most 'RHONJ' mega-mansions.

And, while modern design in homes nowadays usually means stark cubes, frigid spaces, and minimalist decor, Melissa chose a distinctly modern design while also incorporating some classic design elements from her past. Melissa, for example, has shown off a home office as well as a Roaring 20s-inspired bedroom replete with her "dream closet," a built-in fireplace, and a fluted wall design on social media.

The kitchen in the Gorgas' new house has two large islands and a barstool sitting counter, and the @melissagorga Instagram account has also posted pics of a variety of stunning chandeliers in her home.

Tune into 'RHONJ' this Tuesday on Bravo at 9 PM ET to get a sneak peek into the new Gorga residence.
