The year 2020 will go down in history as a year that turned the world upside down — from a pandemic that forced people to practice social distancing to the entire country coming together firmly to voice their fury against the injustice meted out against Blacks in America, a lot has happened over the course of a year. Porsha Williams, star of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta', used her platform to firmly stand up for the Black Lives Matter movement.

The housewife participated in several protests and drew a lot of attention when she was arrested while participating in a peaceful protest in Kentucky. While what Porsha was doing is certainly commendable, for many it might not seem like a big deal, considering many people took to the streets during the pandemic, risking their lives to demand justice for Blacks.

But for long-time fans of 'RHOA', watching Porsha being in the frontline and being so passionate about the BLM Movement and Black history showed tremendous growth in the knowledge and personality of the housewife.

In her first season on the show, Porsha was slammed for being ignorant after she mistook the Underground Railroad Network for actual train service. The housewife was also mocked for her lack of knowledge of Black history and civil rights. Instead of letting these comments get to her, Porsha took the time to educate herself about the civil rights movement and Black history.

She didn't have to look too far, as her grandfather and civil rights leader Hosea Williams' work and videos taught the housewife all about the injustice meted out against Blacks.

She also explained in her green room interview, how the birth of her daughter Pilar Jhena changed her perspective. She expressed how Breonna Taylor's death was the catalyst for her that pushed the housewife to spring into action to make the world a safe space for Blacks. Watching the footage of Porsha during protests and hearing her speak so passionately about Black rights and history left fans brimming with pride over the housewife.

Several fans took to Twitter to commend the housewife for all her activism and work for the Black community. A fan tweeted, "Porsha has the most character growth in any franchise it's not even close #RHOA."

"I am so incredibly proud of Porsha. Her growth from the first season until now is absolutely phenomenal. She is not only walking the walk but doing the work. Watched her IG live with Jon Ossoff earlier today and seeing her work on this episode. Nothing but respect #RHOA," wrote a fan. "#RHOA I am liking the episode and I am proud of my favorite housewives porsha on what she doing with the Black Lives Matter/ movement," commented a fan.

Many fans also pointed at the growth that Porsha has shown on the show over the years, from thinking the Underground Railroad Network was an actual train service to having a better understanding of Black history. A fan expressed, "Y’all understand that Porsha went from thinking the Underground Railroad was train, to leading protests?! LMAOOOO CMON WITH THE GROWTH BABY!! #RHOA."

"Porsha thinking that the Underground Railroad was an actual railroad to now being a political activist walking the walk and talking the talk. We stan that kinda growth #RHOA," shared a fan. "Gotta give it up to Porsha in her growth within Black history. She’s coming a long way since thinking Harriet was on an actual train. #RHOA," pointed a fan.

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Season 13 airs every Sunday at 8/7c on Bravo.
