Following the dramatic escape from Widdicombe Manor, George is wounded. Nell manages to take out the bullet, but the situation remains dire as George's health begins to deteriorate.
Nell chooses to go get a doctor for George but she is aware of the danger of being apprehended owing to her outlaw status. Nell comes up with a brave plan. She dresses up as the Duchess of Argyll and goes to meet a physicist named Henry Tuplow.
But here's the catch: Henry is old, which worries Nell because she's not sure if he's still good at what he does. However, with all the young doctors off at war, she has no other option but to bring him along.
Nell Jackson begs Henery Tulow to save George Trotter
Back in the countryside, Nell's true identity gets exposed as the doctor starts examining George's wound. But Nell feels relieved when she finds out that George is doing better after Roxy applied some ointment.
However, Henry notices that while the ointment helps, there's still danger ahead. George's wound is infected, and the infection has spread in her blood. The only way to save her is by reopening the wound, meaning time is running out.
Shocked by this news, Nell pleads with the doctor to save her sister. Henry then encourages George to stay strong. Later on, it's revealed that the procedure worked, and George starts feeling better.
Henry leaves, and Nell gives him a gold coin as a thank-you for his help.
