Netflix 'Red Notice': 5 things you need to know about Dwayne Johnson
Big names headline one of the much-anticipated movies of the year. 'Red Notice' stars Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot in key roles as the trio brings in high-octane action, some thigh-slapping comedy, and the oomph factor in generous doses. The film releasing November 12 on Netflix is helmed by director Rawson Marshall Thurber, who previously worked with Dwayne Johnson on 'Central Intelligence' and 'Skyscraper'.
The official synopsis reads: "An Interpol-issued red notice is a global alert to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted. But when a daring heist brings together the FBI's top profiler (Dwayne Johnson) and two rival criminals (Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds), there's no telling what will happen." And while we wait for the movie to hit the streaming platform, we take a look at who plays whom in the action flick.

Dwayne Johnson as John Hartley
Dwayne Johnson needs no introduction. The former professional wrestler carved a career in Hollywood with a string of hits in 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island', 'San Andreas' and 'Central Intelligence'. For those unaware, Johnson played college football at the University of Miami and even won the national championship in 1991. He signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) but had an exit after his first season with the side.
His major success came from Luke Hobbs in Fast Five (2011) and subsequently showed up in the sequels 'Fast & Furious 6' and 'The Fate of the Furious'. This was followed by the spin-off 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw' co-starring Jason Statham. In 'Red Notice', Johnson stars as John Hartley, an Interpol agent tasked to capture the world's most wanted criminals.
Ryan Reynolds as Nolan Booth
Back to Netflix after starring in Michael Bay's '6 Underground', Ryan Reynolds is another decorated Hollywood actor with an IMDB list as big as his biceps. Starting off with 'Hillside', a Canadian teen soap, he went on to become one of the leading and sought-after actors in the industry with moolah-grossers in 'The Proposal', 'Deadpool', 'Deadpool 2' and 'Buried'.
His other major flicks include, 'The Hitman's Bodyguard', 'Detective Pikachu', 'Free Guy', and 'Pokemon: Detective Pikachu'. Reynolds will work with Johnson for the second time after starring in a cameo in 'Hobbs & Shaw'. He plays Nolan Booth, a criminal in 'Red Notice', and is seen aiding Hartley in capturing fellow rival, Gal Gadot.
Gal Gadot as Sarah Black
The Israeli actress and model is a household name playing Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. After serving two years in the Israel Defense Forces as a soldier, she turned her focus to acting and her major role came as Gisele Yashar in Fast & Furious (2009). She reprised the role in two more movies in the franchise and then nailed the role of 'Wonder Woman'.
Other cast
Chris Diamantopoulos as Sotto Voce, Ritu Arya as Inspector Urvashi Das, Ivan Mbakop as Tambwe, Vincenzo Amato as Director Gallo, and Rafael Petardi as Security Chief Ricci round up the rest of the cast.
