It's not often that we have got to see John Corbett play the bad guy. The ever affable easygoing Corbett who plays Grady on 'Rebel', seemed to complement his trailblazer wife Rebel perfectly. But we guess we should have known that the series that is based on the real life of Erin Brockovich, wouldn't run quite so smoothly in the romance department. Brockovich was famously unsupported by the men in her life and it seems that fiction echoed fact in the pilot episode of 'Rebel'.

Grady (John Corbett) initially seems to be the husband every woman dreams of, even telling Rebel that if she doesn't go to work, who will save the world. However, it soon comes to light, that Grady is possibly as far from being a feminist as they come. When it comes to light that he is planning to divorce Rebel, one of his reasons is that she is never around to cook him dinner. Not surprisingly fans aren't wasting much time, mourning the loss of this relationship. That could also be because fans have spotted what seems to be a much better fit for Rebel, the lawyer Rebel works for - Julian Cruz ( Andy Garcia). Cruz's character seems to be inspired by Erin's real-life boss Ed Masry, who showed faith in Brockovich's abilities and intelligence. While there's was purely a mentor and mentee relationship, in 'Rebel' fans are hoping it takes a more romantic turn.

Cruz like Rebel, has also been a lonely heart for a few years after he lost his wife, who also happened to be Rebel's best friend. Obviously, with an interesting professional and personal backstory, it's not surprising that fans are shipping Rebel and Cruz. One fan tweeted, "So are we allowed to ship Rebel and Cruz or #rebelabc"

Another made it clear that they had already moved on from the Rebel Grady romance tweeting, "Cruz and Rebel, in it together! Grady who? #Rebel #RebelABC
@rebelabc @KateySagal." Fans felt that the two have already got the "Rebel and Cruz by the fire is such a tender moment. #letsgocrushthosebastards #rebel@rebelabc"
@KateySagal."

Fans are also loving that Rebel and Cruz have a bit of a love-hate relationship. One fan tweeted, "Cruz says he honestly hates Rebel. Rebel says Cruz is not the first man who’s ever said that. #Rebel #RebelABC "
