'Project Runway': Tyler calls Sergio 'f***ing god' after he throws shade at him for being a self-taught designer

Mentor Christian Siriano too was at the receiving end of Sergio's snootiness. Fans were livid when Sergio hinted that he doesn't require Christian's advice on his work.

'Project Runway' is getting interesting by the minute. Not only is it a treat for all the fashion lovers, but also for those who love a good drama. The rivalry has intensified particularly between two contestants: Tyler Neasloney and Sergio Guadarrama. Even though they have not been at loggerheads, their conversations are never plain and simple. For anyone listening, it would feel as if they were trying to subtly put the other person down. The tension is palpable.

In this week's episode, Karlie Kloss throws the upcycle challenge at the designers. As they sit down for a meal, Sergio and Tyler begin a conversation. What starts off as a friendly conversation soon starts to metamorphose into a one-sided, mock session. Discussing the next project, the Austin-born designer asked Tyler what he had planned for the next project, to which the latter said he was thinking of doing navy pants with a gold button detailing down the front and a white shirt with tuxedo ruffling.

A curious Sergio then went on to ask how he had trained in fashion design and if he knew how to make one's own patterns. By the time Tyler was able to finish expressing his interest in attending a course on pattern-making, Sergio pointed out that one needs to be technically sound about everything when it comes to fashion.

"I mean it would just scare me as a designer to come on here with no formal training. There's a lot of math equations that you have to remember. And you have to know everything about garment construction. But that's just my opinion," Sergio said in his green-room interview.  It was evident on Tyler's face that he was not liking what was being talked at the table. but he kept his opinions safe until the confessional video was shot.

Tyler observed that Sergio is a nice person but also very strategic. And that he thinks he is "f*****g god" just for designing a dress for Billy Porter. "I am from Wyoming. I didn't go to some Ivy League school. But I officially launched my label this year. So like, don't come for my pattern-making skills," Tyler added.

This isn't the first time that Sergio has made headlines for being snooty in his approach. Mentor Christian Siriano too was at the receiving end of Sergio's snootiness. Fans were livid when Sergio hinted that he doesn't require Christian's advice on his work.

Let's hope in the coming days Sergio and Tyler are able to work together, without having to snipe at each other, albeit subtlely.
