'Project Runway' season 18 is underway and we already have viewers picking favorites. Brittany Allen and Sergio Guadarrama are off to a flying start as they managed to impress the judges - Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth - with their on-point representation of the space-themed challenge. Meanwhile, in an elimination shocker, Asma Bibi and Jenn Charkow were asked to wrap up their table in the workroom.

The norm has been one elimination per episode but it looks like the makers are pulling out all the stops to ensure this season gets the best twists and turns. Asma and Jenn's work lacked coordination, their pieces didn't have coherence and were too simple and all-over-the-place to be selected for further rounds. But, they too have managed to grab viewers' attention and some of them even wished they would come back on the show.

Asma's pink-orange happy-hour cocktail dress was very confusing and judges felt it was missing form. For her, it all went down when she stitched her outfit too tight for the model to fit in and during one of the preliminary trials, it had all started to come undone. However, with Christian Siriano's help, she was able to salvage a bit of it. He suggested she could play with patches and get really creative to cover up spaces from where the fabric is coming off. She took the advice and pulled it together.

Sergio Guadarrama, whose design stole the show,  was being a bit smug about Christian advising him on how he could do better with his masterpiece.  Even though Alan Gonzalez was in the bottom two, with teammate Dayoung Kim, he did light up the screen every time he was in the frame and that's just because he has such a positive vibe. Just when they had begun putting their ensembles together, Alan realized that he had misplaced the organza fabric he had picked up at the fabric store and was at his wit's end trying to figure how he'd go about designing his outfit. But, he was able to manage with items available to him and he did a bang-on job.

There were a few hits and misses, but overall the enthusiasm and excitement with which the designers took on the challenge was commendable and only goes on to show that they are in for the long haul. Meanwhile, viewers have picked up their favorites and already rooting for them. Some of the popular names on social media are:

''My favs: Brittany, Dalvin, and Geoffrey. Honorable mention to Alan for his fun personality #ProjectRunway''

''I agree! Brittany will probably be a finalist on #ProjectRunway.''

''ahhhh she's in! I yelled again!! GO CHELSEY! #ProjectRunway''

''First show of the season got it so wrong. Top four not on my scorecard at all. Nothing like a pleated waist to make u look bigger. Marquise & Nancy r my #1 #ProjectRunway''

''I love dayoung’s work!! And her personality! I know who I’m rooting for! #ProjectRunway''
