'Project Runway': Fans think Tyler was eliminated for throwing major shade at Karlie and not for his outfit

Bravo TV's 'Project Runway' is back after a short holiday break and is totally killing 2020 with an interesting, drama-filled episode.

The one-day upcycle challenge had everyone testing their craftsmanship and emerging successful, except for Tyler Neasloney who was eliminated not because he threw major shade at host-judge Karlie Kloss but because his outfit was labeled least innovative.

The 29-year-old Wyoming boy, who took up fashion as a hobby and later built on his talent with the help of books and YouTube, didn't think he would take the exit this week because he was confident about his creation and was able to pull it off in a short span of time.

Mentor Christian Siriano, however, disagreed in the after-show chat segment, that the look wasn't exciting. On the other hand, Tyler thought the outfit represented his taste — polished and refined.  The judges weren't in agreement with it, especially Karlie who said it missed the mark on all accounts.

Meanwhile, fans are of the opinion that it wasn't his uninteresting outfit that sent him home, but his comment about the Kushner's.

After Karlie said she couldn't see herself wearing it anywhere, Tyler asked: "Not even to the dinner with Kushners?" Even though the question was out of line and put Karlie off for a split second, Tyler later clarified he wasn't a jerk and his comment didn't have a hidden agenda to it.

However, viewers are miffed by Tyler's exit, with some even thinking that it could have been his comment on Karlie's personal life that did him wrong.

"On today’s edition of the project runway judges have terrible opinions and I hate the show more every episode... Tyler's look was not at all the worst one but he went home for his comments. Seems to go against what this show is meant to be but okay ig #ProjectRunway," a fan expressed.

"I didn't see the issue with Tyler mentioning Karlie's husband's family name. What's the big deal? She has him on her social media so it's not a secret. If you're going to be embarrassed by the mention of who you're with then there's something wrong there  #ProjectRunway," another wrote.

"Tyler was already on thin ice, but dude doomed himself with the wildly unprofessional mention of the Kushners. #ProjectRunway," a viewer posted on social media.

Tyler's exit has left fans divided with a section thrilled at his exit because he lacked what it takes to be on the show. However, the designer has moved on from it and continues to believe that the dress meant for Karlie's CFTA event was one of his best creations.
