'Project Runway': Eliminated contestant Veronica Sheaffer's diaper dress worst of the looks? Viewers make a decision

Veronica Sheaffer failed to impress the judges and viewers with her chiffon diaper ensemble.

'Project Runway' Season 18 is getting intense with every episode, every elimination. The stakes are higher and the challenges are only going to get stiffer.

Veronica Sheaffer, a Chicago-based bridal designer, approaches fabrics with uniqueness. Her design sensibility is dreamy and feminine, but with a twist. And that worked for her in the maiden episode, but this week she failed to impress the judges with her chiffon bloomers that came with an asymmetric top, whose seams were visible. From the start, she wasn't clear about her fabric and the overall look, which sort of pushed her out of the race.

Judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell and Elaine Welteroth too saw the confusion in her outfit. While Brandon thought it was an "exotic diaper" he wouldn't want to wear, Nina thought the look wasn't coming together. Viewers echoed similar thoughts as they wrote how it wasn't her best creation, but she's got the heart and will do well. Most were disappointed to see her go and wanted Sergio to be shown the doors instead, given he did not follow the challenge down to the T.

"Sad to see Veronica go. She had a gentle vibe. Still, the judges made the right choice for that Bottom 3. #ProjectRunway," a fan tweeted, while another wrote, "I feel a little sad for Veronica her concept was a cute idea but the execution didn't work out she seems so sweet #ProjectRunway."

There was also a section of viewers who thought Veronica's wasn't the worst of the lot. "Veronica should be proud. She handled that exit with class. And I really don't think her design was the worst. #ProjectRunway," a fan wrote.

Meanwhile, during her interview with Christian Siriano for the 'After Show', she picked her favorite designer, Chelsey Carter, saying she had seen her work and is familiar with her process from before. "I didn't want to see her here," Veronica quipped. Further into the episode, she even spoke of how excited she was to meet her daughter. A cute picture of her little one in a diaper was thrown up on the wall and the two couldn't stop joking about the "exotic diaper" she had cut out of a fine animal printed chiffon cloth.

It's great to see Veronica play a sport. Let's hope the rest of the contestants are able to take brutal feedbacks in their stride.
