'Project Runway' eliminated contestant Tyler Neasloney found himself in a sticky spot over a comment he made in jest on the show.

Tyler's outfit for the upcycle challenge left the judges and host Karlie Kloss unimpressed. The supermodel announced he missed the mark on all accounts and that she couldn't picture herself wearing it. Responding to her feedback, Tyler asked: "Not even to the dinner with Kushner's?" Karlie reacted in a controlled manner requesting him to stick to the show.

For obvious reasons, his statement has been blown out of proportion. Even though he took the exit after putting across his point about the comment, social media hasn't been very kind towards the incident. Karlie was gracious enough to walk up to him and wish him luck, but it looks like he still had a lot of explaining to do.

Talking to The Daily Dish, the Wyoming-born designer said he thought they had been friendly and it wouldn't seem out of place to have a little fun. "That’s what is bothersome about some of the coverage, both press and Twitter, is a lot of people are treating it as this non sequitur. It was non sequitur; it was entirely related to the aesthetic of the look," he added.

Tyler's look was labeled as least innovative and bland for a high-fashion event in Paris. He had used four pairs of pants to make the dress that had a ruffle detailing around the neck and bust. "It’s made from four pairs of pants. I was going for a very traditional Montauk, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, Americana vibe," he explained the idea behind his masterpiece.

After the show was over, he taped a short sit-down chat with mentor Christian Siriano, during which he was confident about his creation and thought it was definitely not the worst of the lot. He even had some interesting remarks about Victoria Cocieru, who won the round and immunity for the coming week, and her work for the round. He said she has been going for the same pattern every week admitting it that he liked the first time he saw it.
