'Project Runway' designer Sergio Guadarrama isn't the one to mince words. Even though honesty is a good quality to have, it doesn't always work well for everyone. The master seamster is already an established name in the fashion industry and has been going strong on the show, which probably allows him to blurt out a few things.

His lowest scores and strongest feedback came in last week's episode where his garment missed the mark on all accounts. The contestants were divided into two groups — chaos and stripes — and tasked to create mini collections for guest judge Cyndi Lauper. The Texas boy's 1980s-inspired outfit didn't strike a chord with the judges — Karlie Kloss, Brandon Maxwell, Nina Garcia, Elaine Welteroth — and they ended up dishing sharp comments.

However, it was Cyndi's comment that affected Sergio the most. She straight said she wouldn't wear it. Nina said the look was puzzling, while Brandon said it had too many elements in them.

"I tend to dress women 40 and up. So a little bit older. So all my stuff is going to look more sophisticated.  Even if you don't agree, that's who pays my bills. So, that's who dictates my designs. If you like it, if you don't, that's not my problem," Sergio said in his defense.

Elaine, who hadn't elaborated much on Sergio's masterpiece on the show, opened up on 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen'.

She acknowledged that Sergio is a talented designer but added that he must keep in mind what can or cannot be said to the judges, moreover to an icon like Cyndi Lauper. "He's very confident, perhaps a bit overconfident for my taste. And I think that there's a fine line you need to walk when you're in a fashion competition show. You're there for critiques. I'm sorry but Cyndi Lauper is an icon. You need to show some respect. And I don't think he was very respectful," she expressed.
