'Project Runway': Is time running out for Victoria Cocieru and Dayoung Kim on the show?
The challenges in this season have been impressive and a real test of skill. However, the intensity of the competition has the designers affected, especially Dayoung Kim who has been a bit under the weather lately.
In today's episode, she almost gave up while trying to put her garment together. After consecutive one-day challenges, the contestants were able to let out a sigh of relief when they were informed that it would take two days to finish their outfits.
Dayoung was doing fine on day one, even participated in a fun walk-the-runway task that the designers had among themselves as they enjoyed a special meal and drinks that were arranged for them by guest judge Ashley Longshore.
However, the day after didn't start well for Dayoung. As everyone waited on breakfast, Sergio Guadarrama asked her if she was feeling okay, to which she answered in the negative.
Dayoung shared she has been feeling cold and emotionally drained. Even in her green-room interview, she admitted to having felt weakness.
As the day progressed, Dayoung almost gave up. On-set medics were called but she refused to be taken to the ER and continued with her work, of course with a lot of help from Victoria Cocieru and Geoffrey Mac. However, it looks like it has gotten too much for Dayoung lately.
In next week's episode, Dayoung says she feels sick in her stomach and is later, shown lying down, wrapped in a quilt as Victoria, Geoffrey, and Nancy checked on her. Later, one of the contestants is heard saying she'd have to tap out adding that it won't be possible for her to continue.
On the other hand, Victoria struggles with her fabric and is seen running around, not knowing what to do and where to start. As she stood still, overlooking a pile of fabric strewn on the table, she said: "I can't do this," to which Brittany Allen exclaimed: "think she's gonna quit."
Dayoung and Victoria are two of the show's strongest contenders and it would be a shame to see them leave the show. Now, previews are designed to keep the buzz going and elicit reactions from fans to keep them guessing. Let's hope this is just another clickbait-y clip.
