'Preacher' season 4 episode 10 preview: The 'End of the World' is delayed as Tulip and Cassidy fight over Humperdoo's fate
This is the end, my friend. The upcoming 'End of the World' will be the last and final episode of Preacher and if the preview photos and episode trailer is anything to go by, it is going to be a hell of a ride. In last week's episode, we saw Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) being left to the mercy of The Saint of Killer (Graham Mc Tavish) by God (Mark Harelik). Given that Genesis powers don't work on the Saint, we can only imagine that Jesse won't fare well in a fight with him. But photographs released by AMC show that he will get some help from Genesis' parents, the Archangel (David Field) and his demon girlfriend (Sue Ellen Shook).
We also saw Featherstone (Julie Ann Emery) switch sides in last week's episode, setting Tulip O' Hare (Ruth Negga) free. In another 'sneak peek' photograph from the upcoming episode, we see her confront Herr Starr with a gun pointed at his face. But does she have it in her to pull the trigger after so many years of loyal service?
Meanwhile, God seems to have settled into the general audience to watch Humperdoo's dance with the clock at T-minus zero. Only Humperdoo (Tyson Ritter) isn't on time. So God sends his eager-to die Grail henchmen to fetch him. Seems like the Apocalypse can wait for one man if that man happens to be the Messiah.
We get a bit more reason about Humperdoo's non-appearance in the episode's official trailer that shows Tulip and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) fighting over whether to kill Humperdoo and we can only hope there is a way to stop the Apocalypse without killing the Christ Child.
We also see Herr Starr trying to make peace with the enraged Featherstone with promises to run away together as the "world turns to ash". Of all the possible love connections, this has got to be the strangest. We also see him running for his life after God growls "Run". The trailer begins with Jesse taking the Apocalypse Revue stage, so hopefully, he does get out of his encounter with the Saint alive. Will he have some words of wisdom for the brain-washed Grail operatives or will he let his fists do the talking again?
The most intriguing part of the trailer is God making an escape on his bike. Can we hope that he will still get his well-deserved comeuppance for all his dastardly machinations this season? It is the end after all.
'Preacher' airs on Sundays at 10 pm ET/PT on AMC.
