'Power' Season 6 Episode 6: Tariq crossed many lines this season but will he get a second chance thanks to Ghost and Tommy?
All through Season 6 of 'Power', Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) has been trying to chew more than he can bite. His dreams of building a drug empire have driven him to do some foolish things and we definitely saw what was coming.
In the recently aired episode 5 of Season 6, we saw Tariq do something so stupid that most of us wanted to reach into our TV screens and smack him. He has been working for Vincent (Joe Perrino), a man we know is too dangerous for anyone to be messing with, and instead of being twice as careful, we see him polluting the pills he needs to distribute.
First off, he was too dense to take Effie (Alix Lapri) as a serious threat and was too careless around her. She gathered all the information she could about him, and relayed it to an anonymous entity — possibly Vincent. She is a mole, but he had been consumed by the idea that he is smarter than everyone else to even consider the possibility that he is being played.
He stole uncle Tommy's (Jacob Sikora) pills, lied about it, and, most recently, mixed some Aspirin in the pills to make the most of what he has. While he has sold the number of pills that Vincent wanted, he did not sell them at the quality that he wanted. Obviously, it was a matter of time before he found out, and made him pay.
Even though his father tried to warn him about the dangers of being a drug lord, Tariq laughed him off, saying how being in the drug business is what made Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and that is exactly what he wants for himself. Clearly, he had to learn the pitfalls first hand, and he certainly is.
Vincent has invited both Ghost and Tommy to discuss Tariq's future — $2 million in exchange for his life. We know that both of them love him, but will Tommy still want to save his Godson after he finds out he sold his pills? Meanwhile, Ghost already has a lot on his plate, will he want to take up more trouble? Remains to be seen.
