Power Season 6 Episode 5: Does Effie have what it takes to be Tasha to Tariq's Ghost?

Effie and Tariq have good chemistry and we want to see more of them. Some fans are even demanding that the spin-off shows promised by 50 Cent be about their love story.

As we inch closer to the series finale of Starz's 'Power,' it has become more and more evident that Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), despite his animosity towards his dad, is turning into Ghost (Omari Hardwick). From laying the groundwork of building a drug empire to proving time and again that his loyalty lies exclusively with his own cause, there is much in him that is reminiscent of his father.

In the upcoming episode 5 of the series, we even see him telling Ghost, "I'm just like you. How could you expect me to be any different?" While this was certainly expected of him, what we did not see coming was him roping in a mini Tommy (Jacob Sikora) and a mini Tasha (Naturi Naughton) to help him build his business.

While many believe that history may be repeating itself with the trio, some fans opine that Effie (Alix Lapri) may not be cut out to be a Tasha or even Tasha-adjacent. We know that Tasha is a tough cookie, and she has been the personification of ride or die for Ghost and Tommy over the years, but is Effie really cut out for that?

While Tasha was the woman who encouraged Ghost to pursue a career in drugs, Effie was against the whole thing in the beginning, even reprimanding Tariq for feeding into the stereotype about black men.

That being said, she has been loyal to him since she joined his little business, and has proven to be a great asset. And, when compared to LaKeisha (La La Anthony), who has been by Tommy's side recently, she is definitely more with it. Another group of fans seems to believe that she is playing Tariq, but that would actually mean she is actually a mini Tasha. If Tariq is smart, he will know to keep her at an arm's length, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

What we do know is that Effie and Tariq have good chemistry and we want to see more of them. Some fans are even demanding that the spin-off shows promised by 50 Cent be about their love story. That remains to be seen, but we will get to see more of Effie when Season 6 Episode 5 of 'Power' airs on Sunday, September 22 on Starz.
