'Power Book II: Ghost' returned with a chaotic mid-season premiere. The last we checked, Davis McClean (Method Man) and Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) decided to work together as a team and bring Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr) down. If you remember, Tariq went on a wild spin and seemingly confessed his sins about murdering his father at the cemetery and Saxe recorded it.

The episode is titled 'Good Vs Evil' and that's fascinating because everyone's filled with numerous shades of greys. Davis and Saxe find themselves a "millennial" jury that is going to be sympathetic to Tasha's case (Naturi Naughton). For a while, it does seem as if Davis and Saxe are on the same page and are pushing the same agenda. But that's where the return of 2 Bit, a very familiar felon comes in.

Saxe hopes to seize him up and get his testimony on the shady under-dealings of Ghost's empire. However, Davis gets him to promise that he will deny everything Saxe asks him in court, which is exactly what he does. 2-Bit denies knowing that Tasha was part of any criminal activity associated with Ghost at court, making Saxe look like the fool. Yet, there's a deeper game plan at hand. Tasha comes off looking pretty good in court, but Tariq, maybe not so much.

What is Davis's real intention? For sure now, 2-Bit has been set free and ran off to Tommy Egan, Ghost's partner-in-crime for years. Tommy Egan witnessed Tariq killing Ghost in the 'Power' finale. So, are we preparing ourselves for the return of Tommy Egan where he can destroy Tasha and Tariq for snack? Davis is playing a three-tiered game here — he's trying to just get back at Saxe for all his shady shenanigans.

Meanwhile, Riley is way in deep, and if she continues this way, she might just get herself killed. It's strange that Tariq hasn't caught on to her doings yet. He's normally 10 steps ahead of everyone. Diana knows something is off with Tariq and realizes the truth about the Course Correct app. She tries to inform Monet (Mary Blige) about it, but she seems to care less.

Monet has other matters that are taking up her mind and that includes her own son Cane. Cane goes on a bender in the latest episode with Brayden, pushing them as "corner boys", where they're almost caught. This leads to an altercation between Cane and Monet and he pushes her down. Well, he gets the life thrashed out of him by an angry Lorenzo who tells him to never lay hands on his wife again.

The mid-season premiere was a messy and chaotic one, but definitely paves the way for more plot twists to come. For starters, how long are we going to let Riley getaway with things? Will Tommy Egan return for revenge? Well, it's a waiting game.

'Power Book II: Ghost' airs on Starz on Sundays at 8 pm.
