'Power Book II: Ghost' picked up from where 'Power' left off: James St Patrick being shot dead by his own son, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr). The spinoff is meant to focus on the legal implications of Tariq's act and see him transforming into the person he hated the most — and that's his own father. As things stand, Tasha (Nature Naughton) took the fall for it and is sitting in jail, trying to look for other ways to get out without throwing her son under the bus.

The twists keep coming with each episode as Davis and Saxe (Shane Johnson) have decided to work together and put Tariq behind bars. They've got their hands on an "ideal" witness, and that's Paz. Paz is still as naive as ever and seems to get played by everyone like a puppet. For the unversed: Paz's sister Angela had an affair with Ghost in the original series and knew all about his shady dealings which is probably what got her killed.

Paz is grilled in court by Davis and Tasha comes off looking good. Tasha might have just found her next scapegoat as Paz comes to see her in jail later. Tasha gives her a sad shpeal about how she's a single mother too and that she just wants to be free. Tasha says that she has suffered just as much as Paz and Paz seems to fall for this sob story hook, line and sinker (Sorry we just find it hard to believe Tasha, even though she might have been sincere).

Paz reveals to Tasha that she went to Truth the night Ghost was murdered, handing over the perfect trump card to Tasha. Tasha might just easily frame and implicate Paz in Ghost's murder, no doubt, assuming Tommy Egan doesn't return and kill them all off for a snack. Meanwhile, Tariq has his hands busy literally: He's having an affair with both Lauren and Diana.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it?  Cane is on a bender, as after being beaten up by his father, he's avoiding home. Despite almost attacking his mother, he's still his mother's boy and seems concerned about her at times. This Tejada family mess seems to grow entangled with each episode.

We can expect a lot of things in the next episode, as fans are sure that Ghost is not dead and for all we know, he could just return with Tommy Egan and watch the world burn. The professors Jabari and Carrie sex tales continue, and it's so irrelevant.

'Power Book II: Ghost' airs on StarZ on Sundays at 8 pm.
