Did Pink just 'reignite' feud with Christina Aguilera? Singer hints 'Lady Marmalade' bad-blood lingers
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pink seemed to implicitly criticize Christina Aguilera while discussing the video of their song, 'Lady Marmalade', reigniting an old rivalry. The 43-year-old 'Raise Your Glass' singers confirmed rumors that the two legendary singers had been at odds for many years in a recent interview.
When asked to list her top 12 music videos, the singer promptly placed 'Lady Marmalade' at the bottom. “It wasn’t very fun to make,” Pink told BuzzFeed UK on Friday, February 17, per the Daily Mail. “I’m all about fun and it was, like, a lot of fuss and there were some personalities. Kim and Mya were nice!" she continued, adding, "I guess it is iconic, but I remember I kept crying because my skin didn't like the makeup. It was just...There was some annoying things happening that day."

A fierce competition
The Pennsylvania native, whose real name is Alecia Moore, collaborated with Aguilera, Lil' Kim, and Mya to perform a version of LaBelle's 1974 classic. The 2001 rendition, which was performed for Baz Luhrmann's 'Moulin Rouge!' later won a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. While their version went on to become a classic, it also quickly sparked a fierce competition among pop divas over who would perform which verses.
“[Label executive] Ron Fair walked in. He didn’t say hi to any of us and said, ‘What’s the high part? What’s the most singing part? Christina’s going to take that part,’” Pink alleged in her VH1 Behind the Music special, which aired in 2009, adding, “And I stood up, and I said ‘Hi. How are you? So nice of you to introduce yourself. I’m Pink. She will not be taking that part. I think that’s what the f*****g meeting’s about.’”
Singers publicly ended their feud
After the video was over, tensions between Pink and Aguilera, 42, worsened. “We were super young and super new at the whole [fame] thing,” the 'What About Us' singer said on 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen' in 2017, alleging the Burlesque actress once “swung on me” in a club. “I think I’m an alpha and she’s an alpha, and I’m used to taking my altercations physical and she’s used to having them verbal. We just are very different,” Pink said
Prior to Pink's remarks, both singers later publicly ended their feud. “She’s so talented, and, deep down, I’ve had bad days too. She’s a really sweet person. We made up on 'The Voice',” Pink, who has two children with husband Carey Hart, said during her Bravo appearance in 2017, adding, “I hadn’t seen her in years and years and years. We became moms. We grew up. We hugged it out. It’s that simple. I feel so good about that.”
