Pedro Pascal's 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' role: Actor once appeared mustache-less in iconic series
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' starred some of our would-be favorites throughout the series. An appearance on the show, even for an episode, kick-started several careers, besides all the fun these up-and-comers had working with such a great cast. Notable guest stars on the show included Clea DuVall, Nathan Fillion, and Rachel Bilson. Therefore, it shouldn’t be too surprising to learn that our current heartthrob Pedro Pascal also played a minor role in a 'Buffy' episode once.
The love for Pedro Pascal is ever-growing, thanks to his 'Saturday Night Live' appearance and his iconic role in HBO Max's hit drama series 'The Last of Us'. Known for his somber roles, Pascal's dewy-eyed performance in an episode of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' remains amusing to this day.

Who did Pedro Pascal play in 'Buffy'?
Season 4 of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' was arguably one of its weakest overall, despite some iconic episodes and powerful characters like Sunday (Katharine Payne Towne), a gang leader of vampires who lives in a frat house. Pedro Pascal played Eddie in the first episode of season 4, titled 'The Freshman'. Although the role wasn't significant, the character was a kind-of-a-friend to Buffy. It was unusual but nice for Buffy to make a friend outside of her infamous group known as the Scoobies. And it would've been a great treat for the audience if Eddie turned out to be a love interest.
But alas, that dream wasn't to be as Eddie was murdered and turned into a vampire by the antagonist of the show, Sunday. Meanwhile, Buffy had to slay her friend, because that's her job. Give all your love to baby Pedro, as he was just 24 when he played Eddie.
Pascal's 'Buffy' experience
Pascal shared some insight about his time as Eddie in a conversation with Vulture. "Correct! That was one of the first jobs I got after I graduated, being a vampire — albeit briefly. That was a brilliant thing Joss [Whedon] did, because he set my character Eddie up as, “Oh! This is Buffy’s new friend. This is a new character for season four. No, just kidding — he’s dead. It’s a funny thing because Buffy is such a wonderful show, and it’s something that I got into kind of late in life now that it’s available for streaming. Now that I’m removed from having been on it, I got to really experience the show in all of its brilliant allegory," Pascal shared.
