'Peaky Blinders' Season 5: Polly Grey's new look leaves fans impatient for release date
Helen McCrory's Polly Grey (Shelby) has become one of the most sought after characters on BBC One's 'Peaky Blinders'. Polly is the matriarch of the infamous Shelby family who rules over Small Heath, in Birmingham. Polly's three nephews, Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson), Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy), and the late John Shelby (Joe Cole) lead the notorious street gang, Peaky Blinders, who are known for slashing the eyes of their enemies with razors attached to their caps. While her three nephews take care of the Shelby Automobile Pvt. Ltd's external affairs, which often involve murder, theft, and robbery, Polly is the company's treasurer.
In a recent shot of her from the set of Season 5, uploaded on Instagram, the matriarch can be seen posing in front of what seems to be a Wolseley 21/60 County de Luxe car. She is clad in a shirt with a tie, a waistcoat, and a suit, and she sports her curls with a hat. Polly Grey completed the attire with a pair of gloves and shades, as she casually leaned against the car. The picture immediately drew fans' attention some of whom even compared the character's look to Marlene Dietrich, the German-American actress whose stunning appearance and skillful performance in silent films made her the highest paid actress of the early 20th century.
