Patrick Mahomes has taken to Twitter to slam those who are spreading fake news against him, his fiancee Brittany Matthews and his brother Jackson. The 26-year-old superstar quarterback expressed his anger on Twitter by writing, “Y’all just be making stuff up these days,” in response to Rich Ohrnberger’s now-deleted tweets.

Ohrnberger, ex-NFL lineman and current radio host, apparently had tweeted that Patrick asked Brittany and his controversial TikTok influencer brother to not attend his Kansas City Chiefs games. The 36-year-old had shared, “Another interesting note... I've been told, Patrick Mahomes had a sit-down following the season with his brother and fiance.” He also added, “Ultimately it concluded with him asking them to not attend any games this upcoming season.”

However, Patrick’s fiancee and brother have stirred a lot of controversies in the past. In October 2021, Jackson had to issue an apology after he danced atop an on-field logo in honor of late Washington Football Team star Sean Taylor, who was murdered in his Florida home by burglars in 2007. In his apology, he said, “I want to sincerely apologize for accidentally being on the Sean Taylor #21 at FedEx Field. We were directed to stand in that area and I meant absolutely no disrespect to him or his family.”

Also earlier in February of this year, Jackson received a lot of hate online over a viral clip that showed him forcibly trying to kiss a woman against her will. The incident reportedly happened in Las Vegas where the woman, whose identity has not been revealed, was celebrating her birthday.

On the other hand, Brittany’s controversies include straddling Patrick on the field when the Chiefs won at Super Bowl LIV on February 2, 2020. She had also infamously sprayed champagne on fans at a freezing temperature of 37 degrees after his partner’s team won against the Buffalo Bills in AFC's divisional round on January 24.

Meanwhile, on Twitter people seem to take sides with Patrick after his recent tweet as a user said, “It’ll blow over patrick. Most cringe trend I’ve ever seen hating on two random relatives of a player. It’s crazy how openly homophobic people can get away with being in 2022 as long as you pick the right victim to attack I guess. Internet is sad.” Another user tweeted, “I’ve never seen anything like this before where an athlete for the most part is universally loved, but his wife/family is just as universally hated. Truly fascinating.” “why does it bother you so much? Why are people like you constantly attacking this man and the woman he is with?” the third one asked.

Besides, according to Fox Sports Radio Ohrnberger has admitted that his tweets against Patrick’s fiancée and brother were wrong as he said: “It’s interesting when you’re handed a piece of information that sounds true, by a source that you assume has been vetted. I’m not trying to play a victim here because I feel contrition for spreading a false story that went viral. But the problem is, were living in a time were a lot things on social media try to bait you into believing thing that just are not true. However it is my job and responsibility as a broadcaster to vet sources and other journalist for the truth on any subject matter, and I made a mistake by not doing that.”
