Members of the Kansas City Chiefs received their Super Bowl ring a few days back but Quarterback Patrick Mahomes had his own to give away one, perhaps on one knee as he proposed to his longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews.
Fitness trainer Brittany Matthews took to Instagram to share a pic where an assortment of flowers arranged in an Arrowhead Stadium suite can be seen, spelling out "Will You Marry Me?" as part of the big ask. The Super Bowl MVP also posted a photo of the diamond with the caption "Ring SZN."
Among the several stories posted by her on Instagram, there is a video where you can hear her reaction to the proposal, as recorded by her friends. The brief video begins with Mahomes leading Matthews into a room, which was lavishly decorated and as the door closed, Matthews can be heard saying, 'Oh my God' in the background. The couple also shared several photos from inside the room where Mahomes popped the question. "On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us," Matthews wrote on Instagram. "It's always us, it's always you and me. The words you looked into my eyes and said to me at this moment will NEVER leave my mind! You made this day perfect, you took my entire breath away and I could not have imagined anything better."
This year seems like a really good time for Mahomes as he got his Super Bowl ring and now he got engaged.
Not just that, he recently became the highest paid player in the history of NFL with his new $500 million contract extension.
Who is Brittany Matthews?
Matthews is a 24-year-old fitness trainer and former soccer player. The duo has been dating since they were students at Whitehouse High School in Texas. Though the couple spent some time apart during their college years, their love never weakened. She studied a BS degree in Kinesiology at the University of Texas and she played college soccer at the UT team Tyler. Meanwhile, Patrick went to Texas Tech University where he played football and baseball. She has played professionally with UMF Afturelding/Fram in Iceland in May 2017 and is currently working as a fitness trainer. She has also launched Brittany Lynne Fitness where she offers online training programs
