In 2017, Netflix introduced everyone to the highly controversial Byrde Family and made us a part of their lives. ‘Ozark’ became a part of our lives because it shows how a person is forced to make moral compromises in order to survive in this cruel world and help their family to stay ahead in the game. If you have been a fan of the show since the beginning, then you perfectly understand what I am trying to say here. The first couple of seasons were really intense and we saw the Byrde Family making some decisions that were rash and included brutal killings.

Now, some of us must have forgotten those moments, feeling that the ship has sailed, but all those decisions taken by the Byrdes had consequences and you see some of those consequences appear in the final set of episodes. The one thing that made everyone curious was the first scene of the fourth and final season. The makers teased the future of our central characters when they showed the entire Byrde Family enduring a terrifying car accident and didn’t give away any sort of plot points.

'Ozark' Season 4 Part 1 Ending Explained: Did Ruth kill Javi? GHASTLY decision changes it all

In January, we saw Part One of the Netflix series ending with Ruth (Julia Garner) going absolutely berserk after Javi (Alfonso Herrera) killed her cousin Wyatt and his wife Darlene. Ruth has embarked on a journey to take revenge and kill the culprit. On the other hand, Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) are now trying to adjust their relationship with the Mexican Cartel. In the final episode of Part One, they thought that the entire family could return to having a normal life after whatever they have been a part of for the last few years.

Meanwhile, Part 2 is all about survival. Things have gone haywire for everyone and now Omar Navarro wants to be the leader of the cartel once again. So, he once again talks to Marty and Wendy about doing his last work. Of course, Byrdes will accept the assignment and will do everything to end the saga once it for all. During the process, we see a lot of betrayals, new friendships, and gruesome killings. More than that, we see the determination of the character to stay alive. ‘Ozark’ has been known for delivering a masterclass in devastation and tension and these aforementioned things are at an all-time high in these final sets of episodes.

We see all the players doing brutal things in order to win the game and come out on top. As far as acting is concerned, the final set of episodes belongs to Julia Garner and Laura Linney. These ladies have been a force to be reckoned with throughout the show’s run and this time, they take their awesomeness to a whole new level. Linney is simply outstanding and for a change, we got to see her vulnerable and sweet side as well. Meanwhile, Garner once again shows that you can give her any role and she will turn it into something special.

Jason Bateman as Marty is splendid. Over the years, we have seen Marty being a guy who believes in doing things quietly and not using violence as a tool to convey something. He does the same in the final episodes as well, except in that one scene where he loses his mind and shows the other side of Marty. Literally, that one-minute scene will blow everyone’s mind and is filled with adulterated violence.

On the other hand, Sofia Hublitz and Skylar Gaertner are undoubtedly the scene-stealers this season. They are given more screen time and they absolutely blow your mind with their acting skills.

The final episode of ‘Ozark’ is more than 72 minutes in duration and shows how this journey ends for everyone. Fans would be hoping to see their version of the ending on the screens and they’ll have extraordinary reactions when they see the real ending.

A still from 'Ozark' Season 4 Part 2 (Netflix)

‘Ozark’ goes away with a bang and an ending that is as satisfying as the entire series. It is violent, ominous, visually stunning, and features impactful storytelling. It’s truly an end of an era.

The Netflix series will go down in history as one of the greatest shows of all time.

‘Ozark’ Season 4 Part 2 is currently streaming on Netflix.
