Oscars 2020: 'Bombshell' team bags Best Makeup and Hairstyling Award beating 'Joker' and '1917'

The team of the Charlize Theron starrer 'Bombshell — Kazu Hiro, Anne Morgan, and Vivian Baker — won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling at the 92nd Academy Awards held at the  Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on Sunday. The award was presented by Ray Romano and Sandra Ho. 

Talking about the win, Hiro said: "It is a great honor, we would like to thank the director and the entire team. The cast and crew as well. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Charlize Theron. Your bravery and passion made this possible," he added.

'Bombshell' stars Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie and is based on the accounts of several women at Fox News who set out to expose CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. 

Other nominees in the category included 'Joker' (Nicki Ledermann and Kay Georgiou), 'Judy' (Jeremy Woodhead), 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' (Paul Gooch, Arjen Tuiten and David White), and '1917' (Naomi Donne, Tristan Versluis, and Rebecca Cole).  The film has earned three nominations at the Oscars.
