The Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences has finally announced the nominations for the 94th Academy Awards and fans took a sigh of relief after it was revealed that Kristen Stewart was finally recognized for her work in the critically-acclaimed movie ‘Spencer’.

The nomination came after the actress was left out from the Best Actress category at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and BAFTAs. Fans of Stewart and the movie were visibly angry when she was snubbed from the aforementioned award ceremonies, but they can take a sigh of relief that their favorite star has now garnered her first-ever Oscar nomination. As far as the awards are concerned, Stweart has already received the Best Actress accolade by 22 different critics societies, and associations.

As soon as her name was announced by Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan, social media was lit up with amazing reactions and fans believe that the Academy “righted” the wrong of all the previous award juries. One of the fans wrote, “THE OSCARS RIGHTED THE WRONG OF THOSE BEFORE THEM OMFG!!!!!! KRISTEN STEWART IS AN ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE” Another fan said, “Much deserved nomination. I actually forgot it was Kristen Stewart when I was watching this film.”

“No but Kristen Stewart finally got her due, she went through years of misogyny and horrible treatment and always got dismissed but she finally did it, she proved everyone wrong and got her first oscar nom (out of many to come) and I am so freaking proud of her,” wrote another fan.

“Haven't watched these other movies but what I can tell is that Kristen Stewart marvelously portrayed Princess Diana!” said another social media user.

Another fan noted, “I’m so happy Kristen Stewart was nominated!!! Didn’t care for the film but SHE was phenomenal. Completely lost herself in the role. I would forget it was her. Which is hard to do because she has such distinctive mannerisms.”

Stewart’s first major acting role came in 2008 with ‘Twilight’ and went on to play the character of Bella Swan in four other ‘Twilight’ movies. She received her first-ever Golden Globe nomination in 2008 for her acting in ‘Into the Wild’. Her movie credits include ‘Still Alice’, ‘Certain Women’, ‘Café Society’, and ‘Happiest Season’.
