LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 2, titled 'Jules,' which has officially premiered on AMC+, Lucy's (Krysten Ritter) quest to uncover clues about her past takes a significant turn.

As the episode unfolds, viewers are taken deeper into Lucy's mysterious and complex journey, where she may finally discover the clue she has been searching for.

'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 2 opens with a scene where the young girl, Jules (Amanda Fix), attempts to call 911 to reach her mother, Neva Lee (Alex Castillo) because Lucy has kidnapped her.

There's a lot to uncover in 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 2. So, let's jump in!

Why does Lucy kidnap Jules?

In 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 2, Lucy kidnaps Jules because she sees a striking resemblance between herself and Jules. She believes that they are both 'printed' forms and not humans.

Lucy's actions are driven by a desire to uncover the truth about her existence and the cloning project. She believes that by abducting Jules, she can gain valuable insights into her past and potentially find answers to questions that have long haunted her.

However, Jules does not believe Lucy. Instead, she reveals to Lucy that she is adopted and has been living with her adoptive parents since the death of her real parents.

Jules further reveals that she has no memory of her past, a detail that resonates with Lucy, who also lacks memories of her origins. Lucy points out that they both bear a similar mark on their wrists, suggesting that they might have been 'printed' or cloned.

Feeling threatened and desperate to escape, Jules takes drastic action and stabs Lucy, freeing herself from her abduction. Jules returns home, only to encounter indifferent or dismissive behavior from those around her.

The entire scenario suggests that Lucy's claims about their origins might be true, implying that both Jules and Lucy may have been created by printers rather than born naturally as humans.

The matching marks on their wrists and their striking physical resemblance suggest a strong connection between Lucy and Jules. The marks on their wrists could be a distinguishing feature or a sign of their origin from the same source.

Additionally, the fact that viewers see Jules as a younger version of Lucy in Lucy's past further strengthens the theory that they are somehow linked, possibly as products of the same experiment.

When Jules returns home and asks her grandfather about the mark on her wrist during a video call, he explains that she got it from falling while learning to ride a bicycle.

However, in a later scene, viewers see the grandfather laughing with another woman and asking her to tell Jules not to ask too many questions.

This interaction suggests that there may be more to the story than meets the eye. It appears that everyone in the adoption house is lying to Jules, and only Lucy is telling the truth.

Later, viewers witness Lucy accidentally being scanned at Neva’s office building and being identified as Jules. This event lends credence to Lucy's claims, suggesting she may be telling the truth.

Lucy has no memory of her past, but in her dreams, she sees a young girl who bears a striking resemblance to Jules, holding a knife.

Lucy is determined to uncover the truth about her past and the organization responsible for creating printed forms of lookalike humans.

With Jules' help, it seems likely that Lucy could uncover her mysterious past and also assist Jules in learning about hers.

Together, they may be able to unravel the secrets of their pasts and find the answers they seek. It could also be possible that Jules is a younger version of Lucy from her past, who has somehow traveled to the future.

This theory would explain their striking resemblance and the eerie similarities between their experiences.

It's possible that the younger version of Lucy was attempting to escape from the organization in her past when she inadvertently traveled to the future, arriving in a time where the older Lucy exists.

However, the younger Lucy may not be aware of the older Lucy's existence in the future.

'Orphan Black: Echoes' Episode 2 is now streaming on AMC+.
