'Olivia Colman megaslay incoming': Fans awestruck by Miss Havisham's first look in FX's 'Great Expectations'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: We can't contain our excitement, as our favourite childhood book 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickens is being adapted into a mini-series by BBC. The channel released a teaser trailer on Wednesday, February 8, which speaks volumes of how great the series is going to be. The story is about an orphan boy given shelter by a wealthy old woman whose life went downhill after a harsh and failed relationship.
Although the teaser trailer of 'Great Expectations' was twenty seconds long, it defined the word 'decay'. Decay takes up the chair as Olivia Colman ('The Crown'), where she is seen wearing a wedding dress, sporting decayed teeth with a frizzled out veil - an apparition straight out of gothic horror. The teaser trailer is a metaphor of how Miss Havisham feels on the inside, the outer world being a reflection of her failed relationship and her not-so-hopeful life.
