'Project Runway': Octavio and Zayden go home in a shocking double elimination

Fans were shocked and upset on seeing Octavio and Zayden leave the competition

The year 2020 saw the resurgence of comfortable clothing and loungewear. Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, people had no choice but to stay at home, so many turned to extremely comfortable outfits to relax on the couch. This week's challenge on 'Project Runway' was a homage to the comfy loungewear. The designers were tasked with the challenge of creating a luxe yet comfy loungewear outfit that could also be worn outside in a span of a day.

The designers immediately hit their drawing boards and began sketching their unique take on luxe yet comfy outfits. From sequins to resort wear, the designers went all out with their ideas. Sadly, while some ideas looked great on the sketches when it was time for execution they fell flat. Octavio Aguilar and Zayden Skipper's designs failed to impress the judges and as a result, the duo was sent home in an unexpected yet shocking double-elimination.

Octavio designed a very shimmery oversized hoodie with long sleeves and sexy lingerie with garter underneath it. The judges, unfortunately, felt that the design didn't fit the theme as it leaned more towards the dramatic flair with its long sleeves. On the other hand, Zayden designed a beige-colored jumpsuit with a puffer jacket over it. While Zayden was extremely proud of the fact that he managed to create a puffer jacket in a day, the judges were, however, unimpressed by what they described as a badly constructed jumpsuit. Brandon Maxwell was extremely unhappy with the fit of the jumpsuit and believed that although the puffer jacket was a good touch it seemed like an after-thought to him. So the judges decided to send these two designers home.

Fans were shocked and upset on seeing Octavio and Zayden leave the competition. A fan tweeted, "Octavio should be the one going home but I feel like they finna send Zayden home. #ProjectRunway." Another fan wrote, "Octavio need to be gone but i don’t understand eliminating Zayden too #ProjectRunway." "Zayden's going home and I'm not ok (for all the wrong reasons) It's not even about his clothes, I just love who he is as a person #projectrunway," expressed a fan.

Another fan shared, "Sadly I knew Octavio was gonna be eliminated but Zayden too #ProjectRunway." "I agree with the decision tonight. To be honest, Octavio is a little more established, but my heartbreaks for Zayden #ProjectRunway," commented a fan. Another fan added, "I’m actually crying because Zayden is going home! You have a good heart & soul. Keep that spirit and enthusiasm wherever you go. Good luck! #ProjectRunway."

'Project Runway' Season 19 airs every Thursday at 9/8c on Bravo.
