'NOS4A2' Season 2 Preview: Manx wants to feed on Wayne's soul, but Vic is determined to kill the monster
Spoilers for 'NOS4A2' Season 1
AMC's horror series 'NOS4A2' chronicles the story of an interesting duo — a young woman residing in England named Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) and an immortal named Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). Based on a horror novel by author Stephen King's son Joe Hill, viewers are taken into a fictional world of the supernatural. With Vic possessing the ability to find lost things and Manx still abducting children and bringing them to Christmasland, the duo do not get along with each other. Season 2 will resume Vic's chase to make sure Manx is permanently out of the picture.
Season 1 of the series had brought to life both the characters, introducing them with an eerie and hazy narrative. Manx feeds off the souls of children who he then hides in Christmasland. He does this to keep himself from getting old, while Vic wants to destroy Manx. Christmasland is a village of Manx's imagination where every day is Christmas and unhappiness is against the law. The last season saw Manx in a hospital with burns and cuffed to a bed in an ICU ward resting in a coma. We saw Vic look at his body and confirm her plans to find Christmasland and burn it to the ground. Turns out, Manx is back.
In Season 2, we will be pushed forward eight years from the events that occurred in Season 1 and it will showcase the conflict between the duo. This time Manx is after the soul of Vic's son Wayne. Vic was the only child that had escaped Manx's evil plans and now she intends to make sure Manx is out of the way. While we are excited at the prospect of learning more about Christmas, we wonder if Vic kills Manz once and for all?
The trailer shows Manx's determination to get his hands on "young Wayne" and Vic desperate to "finish the job" and kill Manx. From the eerie Christmas music and the irony of harm for what most call a warm and uplifting holiday, the trailer promises quite a thrilling season. Hill is a master of horror just like his father and this series gives us a bit of 'IT' vibes. Either way, Season 1 had us hooked with its fictional excellence and Season 2 is highly anticipated.
AMC's official synopsis of 'NOS4A2' Season 2 reads: "NOS4A2's second season picks up eight years after the events of season one. Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) remains more determined than ever to destroy Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). Charlie, having faced his own mortality, emerges desperate for revenge against Vic. This time, he sets his sights on the person who means most to Vic – her eight-year-old son Wayne. The race for Wayne’s soul sends Vic and Charlie on a high-speed collision course, forcing both to confront the mistakes of their pasts in order to secure a hold on Wayne's future."
