Anything is possible, but it’s not probable," Wyle, who plays Dr. Robby on the medical drama, told the outlet. While the update may have served as a dampener for fans, there was a bit of silver lining in store. "Dr. Ellis is going to be working days," he added. Season 2 of 'The Pitt' will see more of Ayesha Harris' Dr. Parker Ellis. The character was a vital cog in the series' night shift storyline for the first two seasons of the show. With Harris now promoted to a series regular, the focus is now on how the dynamic shifts. "I like touching base with the night shift when we can because it’s a whole different dynamic," shared showrunner Scott R. Gemmill. The night shift team also includes Mateo Diaz (Jalen Thomas Brooks), Dr. John Shen (Ken Kirby), Dr. Cyrus Henderson (Luke Tennie), and Dr. Nazely Toomarian (Sofia Hasmik).

The latest comes on the back of Shawn Hatosy, who previously weighed in on the spinoff buzz. The 50-year-old who plays Dr. Jack Abbott in the HBO Max medical drama shed light on what a possible spin-off could look like and if he would star in it. At the time of writing, he is a recurring cast member as Abbott, a night shift attending physician at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. "There's been a lot of talk about the night shift. That would be really cool. We could do some cool, interesting things with the tone of the show," he told People. "Dr. Abbot chose the night shift because it's a certain kind of group of misfits that work together at night," he added. Hatosy said the focus on the night shift would help the show put the spotlight on other cases and characters. That said, he also noted that the show's present and impressive run shows how "everything is great". The series was renewed for Season 3 in January this year. While the wait for an official release date continues, fans can catch the first two seasons on HBO Max.
